The story behind this release is wonderful. It is a lost LP from the 1980s, recorded and mostly completed before being shelved by Columbia in favor of a greatest hits collection.
Johnny’s son discovered the tapes, complete with two vocal performances from June Carter Cash, in 2012.
It’s good, though a bit on the overproduced side. Listening to it is surreal.
If you like Johnny, you should listen to it, and let us know what you think.
